If you are seeing sub-gig speeds, the first thing to check is whether those speeds are over a wired connection (plugged directly into the router) or over WIFI.
While gigabit speeds may sometimes be achievable over WIFI, it’s rare in densely populated areas because of substantial interference levels. Depending on many factors (interference, router capabilities, device capabilities, distance from router), WIFI speeds on a gigabit plan can be anywhere from 150 Mbps to 800+ Mbps.
If you are consistently getting >100 Mbps across multiple devices and/or you are frequently experiencing disruptions in basic internet activities (web browsing, streaming, video conferencing) across multiple devices, check to ensure you are connecting to your 5G network, as the 2g network is limited for bandwidth. Some devices such as smart devices, older devices or TV's can only use the 2g network, but if you have devices capable of using the 5g network we highly recommend using that network. If you have confirmed you are on the 5g network and are still experiencing sub 100Mbps speeds over WIFI, please reach out to our customer support team for help.
